Fine needles create controlled punctures in the skin. This is a minimally invasive procedure, not a needle-free facial. Your provider will explain the device, intended treatment area and recovery plan.
SkinPen is FDA-cleared for improving facial acne scars in adults 22 and older across Fitzpatrick types I–VI, and neck wrinkles in adults 22 and older with Fitzpatrick types II–IV. Other proposed uses should be discussed separately with your provider.
A series may be recommended, and improvement develops over time. Treatment does not guarantee removal of scars or wrinkles. Your provider will discuss likely benefits, limitations and alternatives for your concern.

SkinPen’s cleared indications apply to adults 22 and older. Your provider will assess active skin problems, healing history, medications and other factors that affect suitability. Treatment is not appropriate for everyone or every concern.
Bring your medication and skin-care lists, and tell us about recent sun exposure, skin infections and previous reactions. Follow the specific preparation instructions provided by your clinician. Do not stop prescribed medication without guidance from your prescribing clinician.
Redness, tenderness, dryness and temporary skin sensitivity may occur. Your clinician will explain when to resume makeup, active skin-care products, exercise and sun exposure. Infection, pigment changes and scarring are possible risks. Contact the practice with unexpected symptoms.
